When I met Grace, I knew she was going to be my doula. She had the calmest, softest energy but stood tall in her power. As a first time mom, I had so many questions that I would flood her with and she was very patient and empathetic towards me. If she didn’t have the answers, she would talk to her mentors and share knowledge with me. She never made me feel inadequate about not knowing how to navigate my life during my first pregnancy. Instead, she empowered me. I chose to have a hospital birth and she was right by my side every step of the way and was my voice when the pain was too strong or simply when I just needed someone to hold my hand. Having her there for the birth of my daughter made such a difference in my anxiety because we worked on several breathing exercises leading up to that point. When I think back on my birth experience, I wouldn’t of had it any other way.
